Videcom is an experienced CCTV, Access Control and major systems integrator and installer, specialising in large multisite Town and City Centre CCTV systems.

Videcom Maintenance Department is proud of their service and support commitment supporting both their own installations and those installed by others.

Sales & Marketing

Ron Johnson: Managing director with overall responsibility for Videcom and its personnel, Ron has owned and operated Videcom Security since 1985 and has always strived to provide a technically competent, cost effective high quality service for his customers.

Finance / Admin

Andy Pelekanos ACCA: Finance Director having worked for Videcom for 20 years; Andy is responsible for the company Accounts, HR and all Administration. With invaluable knowledge and wealth of experience Andy is a huge asset to Videcom.

Technical

Paul Harding is our Senior Project Manager, originally trained by BT and employed by Videcom for 15 years. Expert in all Synectics systems, responsible for Ipswich Borough Council CCTV control room re-location, system design and Barco integration with Synectics Synerg.

Martin Taylor is our Digital Systems Manager trained by Mitsubishi and Fast. 15 years experience of Digital Systems including those manufactured by the aforementioned plus Panasonic, Synectics, UVMS and Vigilant.

Production

Tony Rhodes: As Production Manager, responsible for all parts supply and allocation. Workshop repairs and manufacturer returns for our fleet of vehicles, access platforms and plant are his responsibility. Employed by Videcom for 25 years with a vast experience of all CCTV manufacturers and Videcom production components.

Mark Blackburn: As our Southern Engineering Manager Mark is responisble for our day to day engineering activities, planning and site inspections. Formally one of Videcoms valued field engineers he now ensures the smooth running of all Southern site installations / maintenance carried out by Videcom Engineers.

The Engineers:  Videcom are proud of their engineers, who are trained in both service and installation procedures. Continuous training update courses for site safety awareness, hydraulic platform operation and street works are undertaken annually.  Videcom boast a well below industry turnover of staff with engineer service typically in excess of ten years.

Associate Consultants:   The company employs the services of three specialist consultants. Each has a particular area of expertise that Videcom call upon as additional resource. Adrian Dobson provides our Software design capability – NEW to market Videcom DVD Barcode Audit. Evidential audit trail CD/DVD printing multi-copier. Bill Mead is a specialist in ANPR and IP Digital Solutions. Nick Burridge BSc is our IT, Remote Network Video monitoring and NICEIC power requirement expert.

Videcom DO NOT sub-contract engineering works.

Engineer Competence and Awareness

Videcom realise that their ongoing success is owed in no small part to the commitment of their staff and regularly hold in house engineering meetings to allow the transfer of technical knowledge and the introduction of new products to the engineers. Videcom promote the use of manufacturer training facilities with engineers regularly attending training on new products.

Training also extends to annual health and safety, plant training and site safety awareness courses.

Videcom maintain staff training and health and safety records at their head office in Waltham Abbey.

Health and Safety

Ron Johnson has overall responsibility for health and safety. Due to the complexity and ever changing regulations we employ the services of a health and safety consultant.

Community Security:

In 1997 Videcom installed a 64 colour camera system at Victoria Coach Station which required in excess of 20km of cable for 10 control points across 3 London Streets, By 2004 extended to 100+ cameras.

Schools and College CCTV installations are a speciality with in excess of 100 premises.

1998 - First Town Centre: St Albans with 20 full-function  public area colour cameras and Harpenden Town with 7 contract inception. The Control Room has full manual and computer control with direct Police links. 

Videcom in partnership with St. Albans Council operates and mans the Control Room which includes ISDN/Boardband/ADPRO video monitoring for commercial and public service clients.

The system has now been expanded to 120 cameras incorporating London Colney, Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, Welham Green, altham Cross and Cheshunt.

2001 - The largest CCTV Town Centre initiative project for Southend on Sea was completed. 

2004 - States of Guernsey approved CCTV/Access Control supplier since 2000,  in 2004 the new Airport Terminal was completed.

Equipped and integrating largest Control Room in Southeast England at Enfield.

Since 1998 to 2009, Videcom have become a major City and Town Centre CCTV installer and maintenance provider. Tenders awarded for London boroughs of Kingston upon Thames and Richmond Borough Council, Broxbourne Borough Council, Ipswich Borough Council, Babergh District Council, Lincoln City Council, Beverley Town Council, Scarborough Borough Council, Scunthorpe – North Lincs Council and Welwyn and Hatfield District Council.

Access Control/Gate Automation/Perimeter Protection:

Full integration of camera and remote access control systems.  The 24 hour manned CCTV control room at St. Albans receives video transmissions via  Broadband ISDN telephone networks using Vision Systems-Adpro for numerous clients with remote guarding requirements.  Videcom are experts in the installation of BPT, Cotag, Janus, Paxton, Newmark Technology, PAC and Keri on-site or remote access control systems, with perimeter protection equipment by Pulnix and Adpro.  The Videcom Client Listing demonstrates the Companys diversity of system design.

VP Product and Services Division:

All specifications, designs and construction are carried out “in house”, utilising the company’s own engineering in combination with the best branded CCTV products.  Videcom is a main dealer for JVC, Fujinon, Sanyo, Dedicated Micros, Computar, Panasonic and Bosh, Fast/Nice, Meyertech, Synectics, Sivernet and Wavesight products.  The Company also manufactures CCTV controllers, switchers, remote control devices and frame grabbers tailored for use in specialist installations; covert camera enclosure design and assembly. 

The Videcom Software Department designs front-end solutions including graphics for ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) utilised by Municipal Authorities and Police.  Introduction of AutoRead software management developed in 2003 for ANPR as a low-cost vehicle identification system.

In 2005, a truly remote stand-alone digital image capture device was launched providing the first SVGA images for extended durations on battery power only. Vidilanz will record internal or external scenes in time lapse or motion detection mode.

Professional Qualifications:

Videcom Security Ltd is a member of BSIA and employs professional engineers and qualified technicians (HND, HNC and City & Guilds).BSI registration, UKAS assessed to quality assurance standard BS EN ISO 9001/2000 Certificate No: FS29915.  The Company has carried out installations under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulation 1994. NICEIC approved Electrical Contractor – EN No. 24727. Safecontractor, Chas and Constructionline accredited.
